UIC concludes eNTRAMURAL League 2020; Initiator seizes this year’s memento

With the battleground set online, still, the euphoric bliss was as high and the determination is strong, ensuring a climatic finished race for the first-ever eNTRAMURAL League 2020 of the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) on November 13, streamed via Zoom and Facebook.

The event encompassed six categories namely eBOARDS, eGAMES, eNVIRONMENTAL, eCOOLtura, eLIT, and eDANCE competition, and two special events namely Banner Making Contest, and the Mr. and Ms. eNTRAMURAL League 2020, with a total of 37 events officiated through live streaming and video submissions. Victors of various contests received a prepaid load as the prize sponsored by Globe.

Supervised by the University Student Government (USG), UICians gathered in the live streaming of the closing program on the USG’s Facebook page while utilizing the comment section as a platform for cheers and supports from the four clusters namely Controller, Duelist, Initiator, and the Sentinel.

Intense cheers resonated as the UICian’s voice filled the comment section as the Initiator, composed of the College of Pharmacy and Chemistry (CPC), pocketed blistering 1720 points, and was dubbed as the overall champion for this year’s eNTRAMURAL League. They were followed by the Sentinels of College of Medical Biological and Sciences (CMBS) with 1600 points as the first-runners up while the Duelist consist of College of Accounting and Business Education (CABE), College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Computer Studies (CCS), and the College of Music (CN) collected 1330 points and hailed as second runners-up. Further, Controller consist of the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), College of Human Environmental Sciences and Food Studies (CHEFS), College of Nursing (CN), and the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) gained 1100 points were the fourth runners-up.

“As a stand-alone cluster for this year’s eNTRAMURAL LEAGUE, it was not indeed easy, from finding willing participants to forcing your friends to join just to fill in the lacking entries. Honestly, I was not confident that we will reign as the overall champion because of the few lacking entries, but I was in awe as I witnessed the excitement of the CPC. Not just that, the kapaspas sa pag-react ng mga students of the College of Pharmacy and Chemistry to our entries posted on the USG Facebook Page. It showed the unity and camaraderie between the students of the CPC,” said Ma. Tricia Jamaica Alegre, the Junior Philippine Pharmacist’s Association (JPA): The Omicron Chapter President.

Initiator unleashed their uncontested superiority in most of the major events including Online Scrabble female category, Traditional Poster Making, Digital Poster Making, Video Mimic Contest, Hip-hop Solo female category, Radio Play, Folk Dance Solo competition, Quarantine Photography competition, Mask-a-rade challenge, Face Shield Challenge female category, Flower Pot Design, and claiming also the crown for Mr. eNTRAMURAL League 2020 with the female representative on the first place.

Charles Andres Nieves, the Executive President of the USG concluded the virtual event with the word of thanks to the elite faculty, administrators, non-academic organizations, and sponsors behind the success of once were thought impossible to conduct.

“Amidst this pandemic, UIC eNTRAMURALS 2020 will not hinder our talents and skills. Continue growing and inspire other people.”

Bachelor of Physical Education, Culture, and Arts/Sports Coordinator, Mr. Rene M. Babiera II then added in an interview, “This pandemic has taught all of us a very important lesson and that is to rise above the challenge and be resilient to stay relevant. Collaboration on this trying time really works if we wanted to greater and impossible things.”

Amicably adrenalized by the ecstasy of closing the most anticipated event in the college voyage, #UICeNTRAMURALS20 takes the 1st spot in the Philippine trends on Twitter for the second time, reaching more than 12, 000 tweets.
