Ride with the tide
The Collegiate Immaculate
As returning to the face-to-face classes is improbable, this pandemic made schools to adopt a new mode of learning. Most students have to face the screen of their computers and mobile phones to attend synchronous classes and devote their vacant time to their asynchronous tasks. This has been the setup students have to embrace since the classes started last August.
But while there are some who are favored with stable internet connectivity, there are also those who struggle with the waves of instability. The internet speed has been cited to be one of the factors that beleaguered most of the students who attend online classes. Undoubtedly, this affects their studies in many ways. However, students caught in the limbo, has to persevere while embracing the new normal by consistently exerting effort to attend virtual classes and meet deadlines for asynchronous tasks.
The university, on the other hand, does its best to mitigate the students’ agony by producing and sending out modules and offering other modalities like the use Google Classroom that will help make access to online learning easier. Moreover, the policy that students shall be free from school works on Fridays and weekends will be helpful for the students to have time to recuperate from the heavy school workloads.
Nonetheless, online classes must not only pose a challenge to students, rather it must also instill the value of patience and commitment. While the world copes with the effects of the new normal, students are urged to continue, as much as possible to strive for excellence despite the struggles posed by COVID-19.
